SUMMARY:Georg and Christine Sosnovsky Prize for Outstanding Dissertations in the Field of Chemistry 2025
DESCRIPTION:Dr. Christine and Professor Dr. Georg Sosnovsky\, the founders of the prize\, studied chemistry at the Leopold-Franzens University of Innsbruck in the early post-war years. Their professional careers took Georg and Christine Sosnovsky first to Australia and later to the USA (University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee)\, where they spent a large part of their professional lives. \nOn the occasion of their Golden Doctoral Anniversary\, Dr. Christine and Prof. Dr. Georg Sosnovsky endowed the prize named after them in 1999. The Georg and Christine Sosnovsky Prize\, funded by their foundation\, is awarded annually to an outstanding dissertation in the field of chemistry. To be eligible\, the dissertation must have received two “Very Good (1)” reviews. \nThe Board of Trustees\, consisting of one representative from each institute within the Department of Chemistry\, decides on the recipient of the prize in camera. The Georg and Christine Sosnovsky Prize is awarded to the author of a dissertation written at the University of Innsbruck and completed in the previous year. The prize will be awarded in 2024 for a dissertation completed in 2023 and already approved. \nSilantes is a proud sponsor of the Georg and Christine Sosnovsky Prize for Outstanding Dissertations in the Field of Chemistry 2025.
