Deuterium Gas D2 Gas (98.0 to 99.9% purity)

Isotopically Enriched Deuterium Gas

Deuterium (D or 2H) is the stable isotope of hydrogen. Unlike protium (standard hydrogen, or 1H), the more common hydrogen isotope with no neutrons in its nucleus, deuterium is composed of one proton and one neutron.

Due to the isotopic difference between deuterium and protium, their respective properties vary accordingly. The variance in the physical properties of these two isotopes gives deuterium some of its most important applications. The large mass difference also allows deuterium to be distinguished from hydrogen in mass spectrometry analysis.

Silantes has entered the production of deuterium gas. With our state-of-the-art production facility, we can offer deuterium gas in various isotope enrichment and package sizes.

Deuterium gas is valuable in many industrial and scientific disciplines, such as:

  • Chemical synthesis for deuteration of chemical compounds
  • Environmental research
  • Test and calibration gas
  • Manufacture of components in the electronics / photovoltaic industry.

Because of the advantages found in the physical properties of deuterium, there are many other applications for deuterium gas.

High-quality Standards

Our quality assurance system includes internal and external control procedures. The isotopic purity of our deuterium gas products is regularly validated by mass spectrometry. In addition, moisture, a typical source of isotopic contamination in the production process, is reliably monitored by continuous wave cavity ring-down spectroscopy. The chemical purity of our deuterium gas is externally validated by a certified testing laboratory. This allows us to guarantee the highest quality standards.
